Mr. Joe Cheung  |  Final Jury

Joe Cheung is a widely respected veteran of the Hong Kong film industry and Honorary Permanent President of the Hong Kong Film Directors’ Guild. He has dedicated his career to creating high-quality films while nurturing the next generation of filmmakers.

Mr Cheung began in the 1970s as a script supervisor, writer and assistant director. He later made his directorial debut in Taiwan with The Iron-Fisted Monk Strikes Back before returning to Hong Kong to direct and produce films such as The Justice of Life, Flaming Brothers and Return Engagement.

He also appeared as an actor in classics including He’s a Woman, She’s a Man and Comrades: Almost a Love Story. His mentorship has shaped prominent filmmakers such as Wong Kar-wai, Ann Hui, Peter Chan, Jacob Cheung and Ng See-yuen.

Renowned for his integrity and fairness, Mr Cheung is an influential figure in Hong Kong cinema, leaving an indelible mark on the Chinese-language film industry.

Ms Li Shao Hong  |  Final Jury

A highly acclaimed Chinese film and television director, Li Shao Hong served as Chairperson of the China Film Directors’ Guild (2012–2024). A graduate of the Beijing Film Academy, she is known for her versatility, artistic depth and sharp directorial vision across both cinema and television.

Her works —from The Murderer with the Silver Snake to Blush and the television epics Palace of Desire, Affair of the Orange and Dream of the Red Chamber— redefined visual storytelling with a distinctly female perspective. Her films have been honoured at Berlin and Locarno, among other international festivals.

She also initiated the CFDG “Qing Cong” programme to support young directors, discovering over one hundred new filmmakers. Her visionary leadership and dedication make her one of the most respected figures in contemporary Chinese cinema.

Mr Bill Lui Cho Hung  |  Final Jury

Bill Lui Cho Hung is a renowned Hong Kong art director whose career spans over a hundred films. Known for his ability to craft immersive visual worlds, his work includes Green Snake, Infernal Affairs II & III, Lust, Caution and The Twins Effect.

He won Best Art Direction at the 23rd Hong Kong Film Awards for The Twins Effect and again in 2023 for Where the Wind Blows, cementing his reputation for excellence and enduring influence.

Mr Lui’s discerning approach to visual storytelling and aesthetic detail has inspired a generation of art directors and continues to define visual craft in Chinese-language cinema.

Mr Teddy Zee  |  Final Jury

Teddy Zee is a veteran Hollywood producer and studio executive whose career bridges entertainment, technology and global culture. He has served as Executive Vice President at Columbia Pictures and Senior Vice President at Paramount Pictures, and produced hits such as The Pursuit of Happyness, Hitch and Saving Face.

His films have grossed over US$2.6 billion worldwide. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Television Academy and Producers Guild of America. Mr Zee has also collaborated with Singapore-based A2O Entertainment to globalise Chinese talent.

A cultural bridge builder and visionary, he brings deep industry experience and a cross-cultural perspective to the jury, championing Asian representation and storytelling worldwide.

Ms Anita Yuen  |  Final Jury

Anita Yuen Wing-Yee is one of the most iconic actresses in Hong Kong cinema, rising to stardom in the 1990s after winning the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 1990. She quickly became known for her charisma and powerful screen presence.

She won Best New Performer at the 12th Hong Kong Film Awards and became the first actress in Hong Kong cinema history to win Best Actress for two consecutive years for C’est la Vie, Mon Chéri and He’s a Woman, She’s a Man.

Renowned for her emotional depth and comedic timing, Yuen’s acclaimed works include The Chinese Feast, From Beijing with Love and Big Three Dragons.

She remains a respected figure in Chinese cinema, celebrated for her versatility, artistry and enduring influence.

Ms Hao Lei  |  Final Jury

Hao Lei is one of the most accomplished actresses in contemporary Chinese cinema, known for her emotional precision and transformative performances across film, theatre and television.

Her critically acclaimed works include Summer Palace, Empire of Silver, The Fourth Portrait, Mystery and Dearest. She won Best Supporting Actress at the 47th Golden Horse Awards and was later nominated for Best Leading Actress for Mystery.

A respected mentor and jury member at major film festivals, Hao Lei is celebrated for her dedication to acting craft and artistic authenticity.

Mr Wei Te-sheng  |  Final Jury

Wei Te-sheng is an acclaimed Taiwanese director and producer best known for Cape No. 7 and Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale, films that revived Taiwanese cinema and brought indigenous stories to global attention.

He began his career as a script supervisor and assistant director, gradually shaping a style rooted in local culture, emotional truth and cinematic ambition.

His jury role reflects a commitment to cinematic storytelling, artistic integrity and cultural depth.

Mr Vincent Fang  |  Final Jury

Vincent Fang is a celebrated lyricist, director and cultural creative whose poetic “aesthetic of lyrics” has shaped a generation of Mandarin pop culture. His award-winning works blend classical imagery with contemporary emotions, notably through his partnership with Jay Chou.

Beyond songwriting, he directs films, writes books and leads cultural movements including Hanfu revival. His debut film Rhythm of the Rain took five years to craft, merging music and cinematic romanticism.

As a jury member, he brings multidisciplinary insight and cultural depth, bridging tradition and innovation.
